In a December 2013 academic paper for The University of Texas at Austin, I wrote about the spread of the English language in India. In the paper, entitled Globalization and its Homogenizing Effect on Hindi as the Dominant Language of India, I argued that English, as a world lingua franca, is gradually delegitimizing Hindi as a common vehicle of communication throughout the subcontinent.
